About the role

Join our amazing team as a Golf Maintenance Worker! This position is responsible for Semi-skilled and non-skilled outdoor labor work for the District's Golf facilities, Heritage Oaks Golf Club and Anetsberger Golf Course. Responsibilities include completing projects and day-to-day grounds maintenance and labor duties on the outdoor areas of the golf grounds. Demonstrates commitment to the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of the District. Pay & Schedule: $18.15-$23.00 Per Hour (DOQ) This is a seasonal, non-exempt position, Monday – Friday 5:00 AM-1:00 PM & Saturday OR Sunday 5:00 AM-8:00 AM Duties & Responsibilities: Effectively performs routine golf course maintenance activities such as mowing, watering, grounds clean-up, changing cups, repairing ball washers, raking sand traps and repairing the irrigation system. Willingly works with other seasonal staff on maintenance tasks. Competently operates riding and power hand mowers and/or a tractor with attachments for the mowing of golf course turf on greens, fairways, rough and peripheral areas; operates all other equipment used in the maintenance of the golf course. Routinely inspects course grounds for the identification of weeds, diseases and insects. Efficiently operates a variety of equipment, including backhoes, trucks and trenchers used in landscape projects such as grading for sod, building berms, planting and removing trees and digging trenches for pipes and wires. Correctly adheres to Park District policies and procedures. Arrives to work on time, fully ready to start work for the duration of the work day. Successfully passes all safety training requirements and testing before operating any tools or safety equipment as required. Meticulously signs out and returns all tools, materials and equipment to the proper location; reports necessary maintenance repairs or potential hazards to the Crew Leader and the Golf Maintenance Supervisor. Collaborates with internal and external customers in a positive manner. Follows safe work practices; wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing duties. Actively participates in required trainings. Performs related duties as assigned.
