Volunteer - Shelter Assistant

Purpose: To support the daily operations of the emergency housing shelter by assisting staff and engaging respectfully with residents to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities: Greet residents and visitors in a warm, professional manner Assist with check-in and distribution of linens, hygiene kits, or personal items Help maintain cleanliness and organization in common areas (e.g., lounge, kitchen, restrooms) Provide general support during mealtimes, recreational activities, or group events Restock supplies and report low inventory to shelter staff Observe and report any safety or behavioral concerns to on-duty staff Offer encouragement and a listening ear, while maintaining clear boundaries
