About the role

At Fondation Joseph Lagesse, our actions go beyond Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding: we seek to create a Brighter Future for All. We believe in supporting vulnerable people of Mauritius, promoting social justice, and providing access to equitable and quality education and facilities. We also strive to enhance community development, social inclusion, foster personal development, and ensure equal opportunities for all. As part of IBL, we are proud to contribute to the group's strategy of Building a Legacy Together. Are you a passionate project professional who wants to create lasting impact? Fondation Joseph Lagesse is looking for a Social Development Coordinator to support the design, coordination and delivery of impactful social projects. In this role, you will help turn strategy into disciplined, evidence-based action. This is a role for someone who wants ownership, purpose, and the opportunity to shape projects that strengthen dignity, resilience, and measurable community impact. Why join us • Purpose wit impact: Contribute to projects that create measurable value for communities. • Ownership and autonomy: Take responsibility for meaningful work from idea to evidence-backed results. • Growth and exposure: Build experience in project management, M&E, grant compliance, governance, reporting, and social innovation. Responsibilities • Lead assigned projects from concept to implementation, monitoring, reporting, learning, and closure. • Translate strategic objectives into practical workplans, milestones, timelines, deliverables, and responsibility matrices. • Coordinate communities, NGOs, service providers, IBL business units, donors, public institutions, and implementation partners. • Track project KPIs, beneficiary feedback, evidence sources, risks, budgets, procurement records, and reporting deadlines. • Prepare clear project documents, progress reports, dashboards, executive summaries, concept notes, and partner follow-ups. • Maintain audit-ready project files and support grant, procurement, contractual, legal, and governance compliance. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Social Development, Development Studies, Project Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field. • Ideally 3–5 years of experience in project coordination, programme support, NGO/CSR, philanthropy, grants, donor-funded projects, or community development. • Strong ability to manage workplans, stakeholders, documentation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation, budgets, and implementation follow-up. • Excellent written communication, structured thinking, attention to detail, confidentiality, and professional judgement. • A proactive, accountable, mission-aligned professional who is comfortable working across field realities, partner expectations, and executive reporting. We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment for all team members. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and experiences. Please note that we will be contacting only those candidates who best meet the requirements for this position.
