About the role
Job Description: The Trailer Repair Technician is responsible for all preventative and reactive maintenance duties on all trailers/trucks. Works independently and with vendors if necessary to provide excellent internal customer service and good turnaround times for mobile equipment uptime. Minimum Qualifications: • High School Diploma or Equivalent • Previous Maintenance Experience Preferred Qualification: • Certification or associate’s in maintenance or technology • 2-5 years maintenance experience repairing truck/trailers. • Diesel Mechanic • Certified or journeyman electrician • DOT Annual Inspection Training Key Responsibilities • Maintain a fully integrated flexible Preventative Maintenance system that changes as service requirements change. • Modify or change equipment with proper approval and authorization. Ensure a proper record of all changes/modifications with authorization in the files. • Develop and maintain a spare parts warehouse to ensure that all commonly replaced parts (consumables) are on hand at a moment’s notice. • Perform all PM’s to ensure equipment is properly serviced and will have the proper life span. *Annual DOT Inspection. • Be a point person for all truck/trailer repairs, ensuring that proper repairs are completed in a timely manner. Be a local partner for all vendors regarding truck/trailer technical issues. • Review all equipment inspections daily, ensuring that issues are taken care of in a timely manner. • Train operators on proper use of equipment to ensure proper life span. Inform line manage the field all deviations in field of responsibilities. • Comply with all safety rules, company practices/procedures and participate in safe work practices, as outline by the company to facilitate a safe working environment • Other duties as assigned. Working Conditions: • Regular lifting of heavy objects, up to 50 lbs • Regular operation of machinery and/or powered industrial vehicles • Regular work in confined spaces • Regular kneeling, squatting • Occasional office work (computer, phone, EAM, Email) • Regular exposure to extreme temperatures • Regular exposure to noise
