Position Type: Classroom Education Support Employment Status: Permanent Part-time Classification Level: ESO Grade 3 FTE: Worked across 3–5 days per week (negotiable), 39 weeks per year during school term times Applications close: Sunday 2 August 2026 • Join a supportive and values-driven Catholic school community committed to inclusive education • Collaborate with teachers across Years 7–12 to deliver targeted support that enhances student learning outcomes • Contribute to a nurturing environment that promotes wellbeing, respect and a love of learning The Opportunity St Joseph’s School Port Lincoln is seeking a dedicated and proactive Education Support Officer to work across secondary year levels (Years 7–12), supporting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning programs. Working under the direction of the Inclusive Education Learning Leader, this role focuses on assisting students with diverse learning needs, including those supported through Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL). You will play a vital role in enhancing student engagement, supporting classroom programs, and fostering inclusive learning environments where all students can thrive academically, socially and emotionally. The position can be worked across 3–5 days per week (days negotiable), during the 39 weeks of the school year (term time only). Hours of work are between 8.55am – 3.10pm. Key responsibilities include: • Support student learning activities, including assisting with assessment and evaluation under teacher direction • Assist with preparation, implementation and supervision of classroom and intervention programs • Provide targeted support for students with additional needs in line with Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL) • Assist with classroom organisation, resources, and supervision during excursions, activities and yard duty • Support teachers and staff with administrative and follow-up tasks About You We are seeking someone who: • Demonstrates a commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of faith, hope, love and respect • Demonstrated experience supporting students, particularly across middle and senior secondary year levels, including those with diverse learning needs is highly desirable • Shows initiative and sound judgement in adapting support strategies to meet individual student needs • Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with staff and students • Has well-developed organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision • Desirable but not essential: Holds (or is working towards) a Certificate IV in Education Support or has equivalent experience • For further information, refer to the Position Information Document (PID).
