About the role

Overview:

Guidepoint is seeking an experienced Tax Senior to own the day-to-day management of the company’s global tax function across a complex, multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction structure (US, Canada, UK, Greece, Dubai, and multiple APAC entities). As an expert-network business with significant intercompany activity and international operations, our tax obligations, transfer pricing, R&D/innovation credits, sales & use tax, VAT/GST, and international tax, have grown to require a dedicated owner.

The Tax Senior will manage tax positions, compliance, and planning. Support finance leadership on the tax implications of business decisions operating with a high degree of independence under the direction of the Controller.

This is a hybrid position out of our New York City office.

What You’ll Do:

Tax Strategy & Leadership

  • Support and help execute the company’s global tax strategy, managing tax positions across all jurisdictions.
  • Support leadership, provide the Controller, CFO, and finance leadership with analysis on the tax implications of new entities, new revenue streams, and business decisions.
  • Monitor tax law at the federal, state, local, and international levels, and flag impacts on the organization.
  • Maintain a global tax compliance calendar, ensuring all filing obligations are met on time and on budget.
  • Support the year-end tax return process, own the year-end tax return requests.
  • Book year-end tax provisions, work with the external global tax provision team at year-end during the audit to prepare and record the year-end tax provision numbers.

US Tax

  • Manage US sales & use tax positions, nexus determinations, and compliance.
  • Lead sales tax recovery/refund initiatives in partnership with IT and internal teams, and serve as a key resource on sales/use tax treatment for internal departments.
  • Own the tax credit program — engagement letters, ESD information requests, and performance-year reporting review.

Transfer Pricing & International Tax

  • Manage the transfer pricing framework — coordinate the external advisor, ensure intercompany policies align with operational realities, and review documentation.
  • Coordinate tax-authority and auditor responses on transfer pricing and other inquiries.
  • Manage the annual GILTI calculation and related international tax analysis, coordinating with advisors and integrating results into the year-end audit.
  • Manage all foreign entity income tax returns and statutory tax filings across Canada, UK, Greece, Dubai, and APAC entities, coordinating with local advisors.
  • Own the annual Canadian SR&ED claim end-to-end, project identification, cost schedules, CRA reviews, and the related wage survey.
  • Manage all VAT and GST filings and recovery across entities — including UK VAT filings, Dubai VAT receivable balance recovery, and India GST refund / tax-authority inquiries.

Advisor & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate all third-party tax advisors, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost control.
  • Serve as a primary internal contact for tax inquiries.
  • Partner with the Assistant Controller and entity teams to integrate tax accurately into the close and financial statements.

What You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation; CPA (or in progress) strongly preferred (Master’s in Taxation a plus).
  • 3–5 years of progressive tax experience, ideally with multi-state and international/multi-entity exposure.
  • Working knowledge of US federal/state tax, sales & use tax, transfer pricing, VAT/GST, and international tax concepts (GILTI); R&D credit / SR&ED experience a plus.
  • Ability to manage tax positions with limited oversight and support leadership.
  • Experience coordinating external tax advisors and managing multi-jurisdiction compliance.
  • Strong Excel skills; <li style="font-size:
