Grant Writer (Part-time)

*** This is an in-office/in-person based position *** The Grant Writer has primary responsibility for the preparation and submission of corporate, foundation, and government grants as assigned, to advance the mission of ForKids. RESPONSIBILITIES Write proposals and collaborate with other team members to develop complete application packets for local, state, national foundations, and other public and private funding opportunities. Collaborate with other team members to ensure files are maintained in accordance with contract requirements. Maintain current knowledge of local, state and national foundations whose mission aligns with that of ForKids. Maintain current knowledge of federal, state and local government grant opportunities which support the mission of ForKids. Work with data and reporting staff to gather data relevant to applications. Ensure accurate and timely submission of government, corporate, and foundation grant applications which support the mission of ForKids. Maintain current knowledge of the application process and related goals necessary to maintain ForKids as an agency in good standing with local United Ways in ForKids’ service areas. Identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities as well as lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to national, local, and governmental entities. Research connections between ForKids staff, board, and statements with foundation boards and program officers and determine feasibility. Other duties as assigned. Customer Service: Provide service to internal and external customers according to standards as outlined in ForKids Customer CARE Manual. Financial Management: Use agency resources (financial and non-financial) prudently. Acknowledge and follow financial policies of the agency. Community Engagement: Participate in development and fundraising activities as needed and requested (ex: meeting with donors, providing tours, attending fundraising events). Regularly engage, support and collaborate with volunteers to provide a meaningful experience.
