About the role
Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.
About This Role
Launched in September 202 5 , our location in Brookfield , WI , is already home to top local talent in behavioral health care. This interdisciplinary team of trailblazers are build ing our adolescent and adult programs from the ground up alongside the leadership of well-established clinicians, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and nurses working in PHP/IOP behavioral health care for the past decade .
Our Family Therapists play a key role in our multi-disciplinary teams and work to ensure synergy across treatment. As a Family Therapist, you’ll conduct family sessions with patients and their loved ones that will aim at providing support, offering education, and promoting collaboration. If your passion is helping those who are working to support our patients, you would be a great addition to our team.
This role will work with patients in our Mood & Anxiety Program, while also offering the opportunity to be cross-trained within our specialty programs and services: Trauma, OCD/Complex Anxiety, Mental Health and Substance Use. The Family Therapist is ideal for someone who is eager to collaborate with an array of clinicians and patient populations, while broadening their clinical skillset through ample training and support.
What You’ll Do
- Facilitating family sessions to a caseload of assigned patients and their loved ones
- Providing guidance and support to patients and family members to help promote goals and encourage patients progress through the program.
- Providing direction to families about effective ways of supporting patients. Discussion topics and family therapy goals include safety plans, incorporating skill implementation, improving communication, creating contracts.
- Provides couples’ therapy for patients and their partners
- Works with various presenting issues including depression, anxiety, psychosis, substance abuse, trauma, OCD
- Assisting in supporting families through phone coaching and follow-up calls.
