Plant Operations Coordinator
The Plant Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, organization, and efficiency of daily plant operations. This position serves as a central point of coordination between production, inventory control, shipping and receiving, maintenance, and plant leadership.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven, with a passion for accuracy and continuous improvement. Success in this role requires exceptional follow-through, strong analytical skills, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies before they become operational issues.
This position is designed as a developmental leadership role, providing exposure to all aspects of plant operations and creating a pathway toward future supervisory management opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities:
Inventory Accuracy & Control
- Maintain and improve inventory accuracy throughout the facility.
- Perform routine cycle counts and inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Partner with production and shipping teams to ensure proper material tracking.
- Support month-end inventory reconciliation activities.
- Develop and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
Operational Coordination
- Coordinate daily operational activities across multiple departments.
- Track production schedules, material availability, and workflow priorities.
- Monitor key plant metrics and maintain operational reports.
- Assist in planning labor and resource allocation.
- Ensure operational documentation is complete, accurate, and current.
- Support communication between departments to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and organization.
- Assist with implementation of standard operating procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in root-cause analysis for operational issues and inventory variances.
