Automation Engineer

This role involves developing and maintaining automated tests for backend systems using Selenium as part of the overall test automation framework. The focus is on ensuring reliability, stability, and quality of backend services and related workflows through automated testing practices.

Key responsibilities & duties include:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for backend applications and services.
• Build and execute Selenium-based automated test suites.
• Validate backend functionality, APIs, integrations, and system workflows.
• Identify, document, and track defects found during automated testing.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product teams to improve test coverage and quality standards.
• Maintain reusable automation frameworks and testing utilities.
• Analyse test results and provide clear reporting on system quality and regression status.

Required Experience:

• Strong experience with Selenium test automation.
• Experience in backend testing and automation methodologies.
• Understanding of API and service-layer testing.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks and test design patterns.
• Experience working with CI/CD environments and automated deployments.
• Knowledge of defect tracking and test management tools.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and QA best practices.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Java, Python, or similar automation languages.
• Experience with REST API testing tools/frameworks.
• Familiarity with databases and backend data validation.
• Experience with Git/version control systems.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
