Security Guard (Unarmed)

PacArctic LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Security Guards / ESS Operators to support facility protection and security operations at United States Forces Korea (USFK) Headquarters. This position requires 24/7 availability to support continuous security operations, with schedules subject to change to meet exercise and contingency support requirements. The Security Guard / ESS Operator is responsible for safeguarding the facility by ensuring the integrity of all controlled areas through active monitoring, strict access control, and appropriate and timely response to security events. The Security Guard / ESS Operator is expected to maintain a high level of vigilance and professionalism at all times, ensuring continuous protection of personnel, property, and assets assigned to the facility. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to: • Maintain constant 24/7 monitoring of the Electronic Security System (ESS), ensuring all controlled areas remain secure and that all system alerts, alarms, and anomalies are identified and addressed in a timely and appropriate manner. • Enforce strict access control procedures at all designated entry and exit points, conducting thorough personnel screening and searches of hand-carried items in accordance with established post orders and security directives. • Operate the radio network control system, maintaining clear and professional communication with all security personnel, supervisors, and relevant stakeholders throughout each shift. • Accurately document all alarm activations, system tests, and operational responses on DA Form 4930-R, ensuring all entries are complete, legible, and submitted in accordance with reporting timelines and requirements. • Promptly report all security activity, incidents, system anomalies, and requests for ESS repairs to the Lead Guard / Security Manager and appropriate chain of command. • Conduct all required operator-level maintenance on ESS equipment, ensuring systems remain fully functional and operational at all times. • Actively participate in system tests, operational drills, and Force Protection (FP) exercises, demonstrating readiness and proficiency in all assigned security duties. • Escort non-cleared personnel within controlled and restricted areas as required, maintaining accountability and ensuring compliance with applicable security policies throughout the escort. • In the event of an ESS failure or system outage, transition to and perform the role of a dedicated security sentry, maintaining a high probability of intrusion detection through active physical surveillance and presence. • Enforce all applicable security policies and procedures, addressing violations promptly and escalating issues to the Lead Guard / Security Manager as appropriate. • Maintain a professional, alert, and disciplined presence at all assigned posts, serving as a visible deterrent to unauthorized access and security breaches. Education and Experience: Required: • High school diploma or equivalent (GED). • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a security, law enforcement, or military police role, or equivalent combination of training and experience. • Demonstrated experience operating access control systems or electronic security monitoring equipment is preferred. • Familiarity with security record-keeping procedures, including the accurate completion of security logs and forms such as DA Form 4930-R. Required Skills and Competencies: • Working knowledge of physical security principles, access control procedures, and personnel and hand-carried item screening techniques. • Ability to operate and monitor Electronic Security Systems (ESS), including alarm panels, intrusion detection systems, and access control platforms, at the operator level. • Proficiency in operating radio network control systems and maintaining clear, professional communications throughout each shift. • Ability to accurately complete and maintain security records and logs, including DA Form 4930-R, in accordance with applicable reporting requirements and timelines. • Strong observational skills and the ability to remain alert and vigilant throughout extended monitoring assignments. • Ability to respond calmly, decisively, and effectively to security incidents, alarms, and emergency situations. • Demonstrated ability to conduct operator-level maintenance checks on ESS equipment and promptly identify and report system deficiencies or failures. • Physical capability to perform sentry duties, conduct personnel escorts, and respond to security incidents on foot throughout the facility as required. • Ability to actively participate in and contribute to system tests, drills, and Force Protection (FP) exercises. • Strong written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to produce clear and accurate security documentation and incident reports. • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support continuous 24/7 security operations. Desired Skills and Competencies: • Prior experience working in a U.S. military installation or OCONUS security environment, preferably within the USFK or Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility. • Familiarity with USFK-specific security policies, regulations, and force protection directives. • Experience performing security sentry duties and conducting physical security patrols in a controlled access environment. • Knowledge of anti-terrorism and force protection (AT/FP) principles and procedures applicable to U.S. military installations. • Experience conducting non-cleared personnel escorts within restricted or controlled areas. • Bilingual or working proficiency in Korean is a plus. • Current or prior security certifications relevant to physical security or ESS operations (e.g., security guard licensure, ESS operator training, or equivalent).
