Qualified OSHC Educator

The Opportunity St Martin de Porres School is seeking enthusiastic Qualified OSHC Educators to join our school on a casual basis. In this role, you will work under general supervision as a qualified educator supporting St Martin de Porres School in the provision of a quality OSHC service. The Educator will be responsible for assisting the OSHC service to lead a balanced and engaging learning environment which is centred upon the needs of the children and outlined in the National Quality Standards. Hours are available in Before School, After School and Vacation Care. Qualified OSHC Educators may be required to act as a Responsible Person on an ad hoc basis, in line with the service needs and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include: • Assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of OSHC and Vacation Care programs. • Support children’s wellbeing, inclusion and daily routines, including personal care where required. • Foster positive, respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues. • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, School and Service policies and the National Quality Framework. • Maintain accurate documentation and assist with general administrative tasks. • Participate in team meetings, training and ongoing professional development. About You We are seeking someone who has: • A genuine commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of St Martin de Porres School. • Ability to work collaboratively and positively as part of a team. • Effective communication skills with children, families and colleagues. • Experience working with children, including children with additional needs (highly desirable). • Strong organisational skills and the ability to follow procedures in varied situations. • Physical capability to engage in active play and safely set up resources. • A clear understanding of professional boundaries, confidentiality and duty of care. Essential Requirements: • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (ACECQA approved) or higher qualification. Applicants who have completed 2 years of a Teaching degree are encouraged to apply. • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC). • Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN) certification. • Approved First Aid qualification (HLTAID012), including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis (as per ACECQA requirements). • Do Food Safely certificate. • National Child Safety Training (ECEC) certification. • Ability to meet Work Health and Safety obligations. • Capacity to be appointed as a Responsible Person, when required.
