Seeking Certified Meditation Instructor/Facilitator candidates with relevant Healthcare And Life Sciences Sector Experience (functional and technical area expertise also ideal) to support professional services engagement for Healthcare And Life Sciences Sector Clients such as VHA. JOB OVERVIEW Provide services and support as a Certified Meditation Instructor/Facilitator [Complementary and Integrative (CIH) Wellness & Well-being Services] in the Healthcare And Life Sciences Industry Sector focusing on Human Capital Solutions for clients such as Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) | Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Generally Located In CONUS - USA (Virtual) and across the CONUS - VISN 5 Region: Maryland, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia, along with parts of Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Kentucky Region (Of Country/World). ProSidian Virtual Wellness & Well-being Services through Meditation For Continuous, Wellness And Well-Being offers Certified Meditation Instructors for Complementary and Integrative (CIH) Wellness and Well-being Health Approaches Used with Conventional Medicine as Part of a Strategy for Integrative Health. This program activity is part of a coordinated method for health and wellness services that combines traditional care and complementary techniques in a holistic, patient-centered model, focusing on well-being, healing relationships, and evidence-based practices. We offer access to livestream (interactive) and recorded virtual online wellness activities as part of a continuous, wellness-focused program, fostering resilience and reducing burnout by providing wellness resources that improve quality of life, lower stress, and support whole-person care. Meditation courses/instructions/facilitations are delivered through a secure, easy-to-use online platform that ensures simple navigation and a smooth experience for users of all technical skill levels. Certified, experienced instructors will lead all sessions, customizing content to meet the needs of diverse abilities and special populations, including older adults, prenatal participants, and individuals with mobility or balance challenges. Meditation is a cognitive training practice that enhances attention, awareness, and emotional regulation through techniques like focused attention, open monitoring, or loving-kindness. Typically done in a quiet space with minimal distractions-often seated or reclined with eyes closed-sessions last from a few minutes to an hour, aiming to cultivate mental clarity, calmness, and insight. Practices often use breath control, visualization, or body scans to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting relaxation and emotional balance. Regular practice leads to neuroplastic changes in brain regions like the prefrontal cortex and amygdala, improving resilience and cognitive performance. It also helps develop mindfulness and other positive mental states. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES - Certified Meditation Instructor/Facilitator | Meditation [VHA0012011] Facilitate virtual and/or recorded sessions via a secure platform. Deliver engaging, evidence-based wellness experiences aligned with VHA Directive 1137 and the Whole Health Initiative. Customize sessions for populations with special needs (e.g., elderly, veterans with PTSD or mobility impairments). Maintain cultural sensitivity to veteran populations. Ensure confidentiality, professionalism, and a supportive online environment. Track attendance where needed and contribute feedback for performance improvement. Collaborate with VISN-5 stakeholders for custom wellness programming (events, staff days, etc.). Support VHA’s goals for improved well-being, stress reduction, and burnout mitigation. Desired Qualifications For Certified Meditation Instructor/Facilitator | Meditation [VHA0012011] (VHA0012011) Candidates: Active certification in the relevant discipline from a recognized institution or board. CPR/First Aid certification (if applicable to physical wellness modalities). Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA, patient privacy, and telehealth practices. Understanding of CIH (Complementary and Integrative Health) principles. Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in virtual facilitation or equivalent in-person delivery. Strong technical proficiency using digital wellness platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, custom VA platforms). Education / Experience Requirements / Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences, Kinesiology, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field preferred. Relevant field training or workshops in veteran-centric care, trauma-informed delivery, or CIH practices. Experience with veteran populations or government/VA services is highly preferred. Meditation Teacher Certification from institutions like The Meditation Alliance International, McLean Meditation Institute, or School of Positive Transformation. Training in evidence-based mindfulness (e.g., Search Inside Yourself, MBSR). Skills Required Clear verbal communication and emotional engagement. Adaptability in modifying sessions for mobility levels, mental health, or chronic illness. Digital fluency for operating streaming, webinar, or virtual classroom platforms. Group management, attention to verbal/non-verbal cues in a virtual setting. Time management and consistency in scheduling and reporting. Competencies Required Veteran-centered care orientation. Ancillary Details Of The Roles Deliver structured sessions using mindfulness, mantra, or breath-based meditation. Assist veterans in developing a regular meditation habit to support mental wellness. Other Details Fully remote/virtual delivery using a VHA-approved secure telehealth platform. Unlimited access for Veterans and staff to both live and on-demand content. Flexible session scheduling; ability to accommodate regular, special-event, and ad-hoc sessions. Minimum availability of 5–10 hours per week preferred, with ability to scale during peak demand. Must be comfortable with basic troubleshooting and have access to stable internet and devices. Must follow HIPAA, Section 508 Accessibility, and VA virtual health policy guidelines. Contribute to monthly usage and impact reports, submitting relevant participation metrics. Attend quarterly virtual check-ins with project managers or VISN-5 coordinators. Must use encrypted communication and follow VA data handling practices.
