About the role
SUMMARY This position is primarily responsible for ensuring that the employee’s assigned building's lighting and plumbing systems are maintained to manufacturer's specifications as well as the organization’s maintenance standards by performing the following duties. IMPORTANT APPLICANT NOTE : This position provides maintenance support for high-security commercial spaces with federal government tenants. Applicants must either possess an active federal security clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo the vetting process. Clearance Requirement: Active Federal Public Trust (or equivalent) is highly preferred, but we are willing to sponsor the right candidate. Eligibility: If not currently cleared, the successful candidate must be able to pass a comprehensive federal background investigation and fingerprinting process. Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required for clearance eligibility. Other duties may be assigned. Maintains assigned building’s lighting and plumbing systems, assuring that equipment is maintained in an energy efficient and safe manner. Complies with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognizes danger and safety hazards and proposes methods to eliminate and maintains a working knowledge of common hand tools used for routine maintenance and repair of above mentioned systems. Communicates findings in the performance of assigned work with supervisors and fellow employees and documents maintenance and repairs made to the above mentioned systems. Maintains working knowledge of lock out/tag out equipment. Responds to tenant and client requests in a professional manner. Issues unable to be resolved are reported immediately to a supervisor. Responds effectively and promptly to all emergencies. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
