INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this functional job description is to establish and define the basic functions, authority, reporting relationships, accountability, job requirements, standards of performance and a performance review of a STORE MANAGER for TFI Enterprises Inc/Thrifty Florist. BASIC FUNCTIONS: The basic functions of a STORE MANAGER shall consist of but not be limited to the following: To ensure that the store meets its revenue and gross margin objectives in the sale of all merchandise. To maintain all merchandise and related displays, shelves and other assorted materials in accordance with prescribed layouts established by the District Manager and the Vice-President of Operations, in order to provide an attractive area which is conducive to sales. To provide input into the ordering of merchandise in order to prevent stock out conditions, to ensure that selected merchandise is desired by customers, and preventing excessive quantities of inventory to be retained on the shelves and in storage areas. To ensure that an open line of communication and an efficient paper flow exists with the Materials Manager and the Warehouse Manger in order that scheduled deliveries to the store from the warehouse are coordinated and completed in an accurate and timely manner To orientate, supervise and train sales, design and cashier personnel who are hired or assigned to the store in close coordination with the Training Coordinator.. To identify key personnel to perform as a “back-up” and to be “in charge” during any absence of the Manager from the store. To ensure that money and banking requirements are completed daily in an accurate and timely manner. To schedule the daily work requirements of all assigned personnel. To operate the store within budgeted guidelines, i.e., payroll and cost of goods. To ensure that the store is kept clean and free of debris both inside and outside at all times and the store is visually appealing to customers. To ensure that all employees comply with established levels of customer service. To assist in the setting up and taking down of inside and outside displays. To resolve internal operating and personnel problems without due involvement with a District Manager. To communicate with and meet with the assigned District Manager and the VP of Operations at least weekly. To ensure that store employees are kept informed of store and company happenings via short, “stand up” meetings held daily . AUTHORITY: A STORE MANAGER is selected and appointed by the District Manager in conjunction with the Vice-President of Operations and is delegated sufficient authority to successfully accomplish the tasks, duties, responsibilities and special assignments that are assigned to this function. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS AND ACCOUNTABILITY: A STORE MANAGER shall report directly to and be accountable to, an assigned District Manager. Reporting directly to and accountable to the STORE MANAGER are the following functions: The Assistant Manager Sales Associates Designers Delivery Personnel (when assigned)
