About the role
About us: Due to an upcoming retirement, Foxdale Village, a life plan community guided by Quaker Values, located in State College, PA, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Over the past 35 years, Foxdale Village has developed a reputation for supporting residents and staff, to create a vibrant, financially sound community. With a reputation for outstanding care and service, the community consistently maintains high occupancy, and strong financial benchmarks. Foxdale Village has 205 residential cottages and apartments and offers a range of health services with room for 46 residents in skilled nursing, including a memory care neighborhood, and 55 residences in personal care, all private accommodations. Chief Financial Officer Profile: The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), serve as the chief financial officer for all financial affairs of Foxdale. The CFO is a contributing member of the Foxdale Village Executive Leadership Team, which uses a team-based approach to management and decision making. Responsibilities include: · Prepare monthly statements of financial outcomes · Represents Foxdale Village at events in the State College area · Prepares annual staffing, operating, and capital budgets in partnership with department leaders · Has oversight of the investment strategy and coordinates with investment advisers · Financially approves potential residents, and verifies resident refunds · Serves as the staff liaison to the Finance and Property Committee of the Board of Trustees, working closely with the Treasurer of the Board of Trustees · Has oversight of the Business Office and Information Technology departments, serving as the supervisor for the department heads of each of those areas · Plays a key role in strategic planning for Foxdale's future · Assumes other responsibilities as designated by the CEO Compensation & Benefits Include: · Industry Competitive Salary · Health, Dental & Vision Insurance Plans · Short Term, Long Term, and Life Insurance Plans · Paid time off (PTO) · 403 (B) retirement program with Match Options (3% grant, 3 1/2% match, fully vested after 3 years) · Flexible Spending Accounts · Eligibility to apply for tuition reimbursement after one year of employment · Use of the Foxdale Village Fitness Center & heated pool (This benefit is extended to family members.) Requirements Qualifications: Education/ Training: A bachelor’s degree in accounting. MBA or CPA degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of five years of managerial experience, preferably in a healthcare or retirement community setting. Characteristics : Applicants should be highly committed to serving older adults and have demonstrated leadership abilities, organizational and computer skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
