Classification Title: Faculty – Associate Degree Nursing Department: Health Professions Physical Demands: Able to traverse campus, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, bending, vision, hearing, and talking. Job Summary/Basic Function: The ADN Faculty Member is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in both didactic and clinical learning environments. Instruction may occur in traditional on-campus classrooms, skills and simulation laboratories, community-based clinical settings, and/or online or hybrid formats. Thirty-five (35) hrs a week required on campus or clinical site, times vary depending on individual assignment. Teaches assigned courses using established syllabi and curriculum guidelines. Ensures comprehensive coverage of required content, learning outcomes, and competencies. Develops and administers assessments (e.g., exams, assignments, skills evaluations) in alignment with course objectives and faculty handbook expectations. Introduces, demonstrates, supervises, and evaluates students’ development of nursing skills and clinical competencies. Supervises and mentors students in the delivery of patient care across varied clinical settings (e.g., acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, community agencies, and simulation environments). Facilitates learning experiences that support the application of theoretical knowledge to direct patient care. Evaluates student performance in clinical practice, including clinical reasoning, hands-on skills, professional behavior, and documentation. Course management: Participates in course design, instruction, grading, and evaluation; comprehensive program design and evaluation. Participate in department and college-based committee activities. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.
