About the role
Provide the Department of Energy (DOE) at the Hanford Site (Richland Operations Office and the Office of River Protection) Electrical Safety Support from one qualified full-time general support services contractor. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Electrical Safety Support Specialist will have responsibility for execution of the itemized work scope below: Evaluate electrical safety program descriptions, plans, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with regulations and requirements. Ensure that electrical safety training is adequate to develop qualified personnel. Conduct routine field walk downs to ensure facilities meet electrical safety requirements and procedures. Review documents, assessments, procedures, etc. to ensure they are adequate to support electrical safety program development and implementation at site facilities and readiness programs. Review Comment Record forms for electrical safety document reviews. Prepare drill reports for observed field drills and exercises. Operational Awareness entries and surveillance reports in the integrated contractor assurance system for contractor oversight, procedure reviews, design reviews, document reviews, field walk downs, etc. as assigned. Provide field oversight of Tank Farms (TF) and the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) activities ensuring The ProSidian Electrical Safety Support Specialist identifies and applies requirements that, when implemented, provide adequate safety, demonstrate compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and demonstrate conformance with overall DOE safety performance standards and principles. Conduct assessments and surveillance of The ProSidian Electrical Safety Support Specialist electrical safety programs, according to the DOE Hanford Site procedures. Work products shall be accomplished in accordance with the directions provided by the SHD Director. All work products will be processed through the SHD Director prior to internal and/or external publication and availability. DELIVERABLES Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The ProSidian Electrical Safety Support Specialist shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined below: Weekly Report. This report will address work accomplished, and deliverable progress to be provided to the technical monitor. Monthly Report. This report will be a combination of the weekly status reports and shall be submitted with the monthly invoice. The report shall also include: Deliverable progress, and date(s) submitted if applicable, submitted within this invoice period. Work schedule for Contractor employees, to include any leave taken. Demonstrates working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC 2005 & 2017), Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E 2004, 2009, 2015, and 2018), electrical systems review (one-line diagrams) and power distribution systems. Familiarity Level Knowledge of the Hanford Tank Farms, 222-S, and/or Waste Treatment & Immobilization Plan is preferred. Consultant shall comply with all applicable escort and training requirements for the Tank Farms, 222-S, and WTP. Knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities and priorities. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
