Job Summary: The Companion provides assistance with daily living activities, light housekeeping, safety monitoring, and companionship to clients in their homes. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients while supporting their independence and well-being. Duties and Responsibilities: Personal Care Assistance (35%) Monitor client safety during activities like ambulation and bathing. Assist with non-skilled activities of daily living, such as dressing, oral hygiene, hair care, cosmetic application, medication reminders, and nail care (without cutting). Ensure clients maintain their personal hygiene and grooming routines. Light Housekeeping (30%) Perform housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, making beds, and changing linens. Assist with meal preparation, plant care, pet care, and errand running. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the home, ensuring the client’s environment is safe and tidy. Safety and Communication (20%) Report unsafe conditions to the client and supervisor immediately. Follow universal safety precautions and assist in enforcing them. Engage in meaningful communication and activities with clients, including social outings, conversations, reading aloud, and ensuring client understanding. Administrative and Compliance Tasks (10%) Submit documentation (e.g., payroll, time reports, mileage, and client care reports) before established deadlines. Follow infection control guidelines and maintain privacy rules and regulations as per HIPAA. Attend all meetings and complete in-services and mandatory training.
