About the role
About Us Appalachian Community Services provides Mental Health, Behavioral Health, Substance Use, and Developmental Disability services to individuals, families, and communities within the seven western counties of North Carolina. We provide a wide range of walk-in, psychiatric, substance abuse, and crisis services to adults and children. About the Role Appalachian Community Services (ACS) is seeking a full-time Qualified Professional-Mobile Crisis Counselor to support ACS in various functions that span across all locations, disabilities, and service locations. These functions include access to care and emergency services. As a Mobile Crisis Professional, you will be responsible for providing the full range of functions to meet the access and emergency needs of consumers. Position Highlights: Provide crisis assessments to individuals to in Western North Carolina Collaborate with EMS as needed to respond to community crisis calls Serve consumers of all ages and disabilities, requiring cross-disability diagnostic and assessment skills Work with individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorders Support high-risk, complex cases with elevated levels of need Deliver Mobile Crisis Management services, which are direct, periodic, and available 24/7 This description outlines the general scope and level of work for this role. Compensation Competitive hourly pay aligned with your role, experience, and contribution, with opportunities for growth over time. Compensation: $22.91 - $29.42 Placement within the range is based on licensure level, education, and experience. What You Can Expect Respond to mental health crisis calls in the community. Work with people of all ages experiencing mental health or substance use challenges. Partner with EMS and other community providers to support individuals in crisis. Make a meaningful difference by helping people access care and stay safe. Responsibilities Complete crisis assessments and provide immediate support. Respond to mobile crisis calls in the community. Work with EMS and community partners during crisis situations. Connect individuals to the appropriate care and follow-up services.
