ProSidian Seeks a Industrial Hygienist - Industrial Hygiene headquartered near Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina to support an engagement for Nuclear Energy Sector Clients The Savannah River Site (SRS), a 310 square mile (198,046 acres) Department of Energy site, is located in the sand-hills region of South Carolina. It encompasses parts of Aiken, Barnwell and Allendale counties and is bordered on the west by the Savannah River and Georgia. SRS is close to several cities, including Augusta, Georgia and Columbia, South Carolina. It is also within a few hours of Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, Greenville and Charlotte. ProSidian Team Members work to provide temporary staffing support services to support Savannah River Remediation (SRR), the Liquid Waste (LW) Contractor located at the Department of Energy Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC 29808. Services anticipated includes storage, integration, treatment and disposition of the liquid radioactive waste being managed at the Savannah River Site (DOE). Industrial Hygienist - Industrial Hygiene Candidates shall work to support requirements for 0 and The Industrial Hygienist IH 101 is a Professional Grade position. Perform traditional industrial hygiene duties with heavy reliance upon previous experience and innovation. Candidate will have demonstrated flexibility and work products in support of selecting best available options, technically defensible, from limited choices. Support evolving design considerations and modifications. Monitor and document the conduct of work in accordance with program requirements for exposure assessment, hazards evaluation and controls, hazardous materials management philosophies, and instrumentation requirements. Conversant in exposure assessment strategy language and determination of potential chemical exposures information. Computer skills to support documentation of exposure assessment decisions and monitoring conducted. Use industrial hygiene monitoring equipment ranging in weight from 5 to 25 pounds. These functions are frequently accomplished under poor conditions, including poor lighting and ventilation, extreme temperatures with physical, chemical and biological hazards frequently present. #TechnicalCrossCuttingJobs #EnergyTechnology #EnergyJobs #Jugaad The Industrial Hygienist - Industrial Hygiene shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position. Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. All employees, in the performance of their respective responsibilities, shall conduct themselves in the highest possible standards of ethical and business conduct. The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined. U.S. Citizen Must pass WSRC drug and alcohol screening and have had no previous record of drug or alcohol- related convictions. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred. BS Degree in Industrial Hygiene, or an Occupational Health related field, from an accredited program. Operational experience in dynamic and challenging environment. Demonstrated skills in control hierarchy selection against competing and often contrary programmatic (radiological versus chemical) requirements. Broad range of chemical and physical agents experience with respect to selection of monitoring methods and interpretation of results. Ability to assess emerging technological challenges around radiological and chemical contaminants from an evolving process, and apply technical judgments with some uncertainty. Ability to make prudent integrated risk decisions regarding radiological control, environmental impacts and occupational health Ability to translate simply for effective and appropriate application of hierarchy of controls A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules; including 4/10’s (10 hours/day, 4 days per week), 5/8’s (8 hour/day; five days per week) and, 9/80’s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Schedule to be established based upon the needs of the crews and facility supported. Workweek excludes WSRC holidays. Each workday has an unpaid 30-minute lunch. Standard Facilities Access required but a security clearance is not currently required for this position TRAVEL: Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements.
