About the role
St Joseph's Memorial School is seeking a highly organised and detail-orientated School Finance Officer to join our Administration and Finance team. Reporting to the Bursar, this role plays an important part in supporting the school's day-to-day financial operations, with a focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable and school fee management. The Opportunity This part-time 0.2FTE position would suit someone looking for flexibility, with the ability to work around study, other employment or family needs. This role provides the opportunity to utilise and further develop your accounts payable and accounts receivable expertise within a collaborative team environment. Key responsibilities include: • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner. • Process creditor invoices and staff reimbursements through to payment. • Prepare and dispatch statements to debtors including school fee statements. Debtor receipting and establishing debtor payment plans. • Routine follow-up on unpaid debtor accounts including standard letters and reminder calls. • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting reporting requirements. • General administration and filing of financial records, in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and archive protocols. • Providing finance and administrative support to the Bursar and responding to finance-related enquiries. One of the oldest schools in the state, the school was founded in 1872 and was placed in the care of the Sisters of St Joseph. St Joseph's Memorial School has two campuses. At Bridge Street, children start in the Preschool, transition into Reception and complete their time at Bridge Street in Year 1. Our children then move to year 2 and complete their primary schooling at the William Street Campus, in year 6. Essential requirements • A current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) certificate. • A current and acceptable Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Catholic Clearance Highly desired requirements • Certificate IV in Accounting, Finance or Business • Relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience in a comparable role. • Experience working in a school setting
