Janitor

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitor to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at our newly built 73-unit housing property. This community is designed to support low-income individuals, adults with disabilities, and young adults formerly homeless. The Janitor will be responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of common areas, assisting in creating a respectful and comfortable living environment for residents and visitors. Responsibilities: Report any maintenance problem areas as soon as possible. Maintains appliances and plumbing. Cleans appliances. Empties and sanitize trash cans. Pick up trash. Vacuums carpets. Sweep and mop hard surface floors per the manufacturer approved methods. Washes windows (Interior/exterior). Checks and replaces exterior lighting on a regular basis. Physically walks the property daily and removes litter, debris, pet droppings from the grounds. Shovels snow utilizes snow blower and uses sand as needed to prevent slick conditions. Blows leaves from the parking lot. Assists with painting, as directed. Assists in inventory control of all janitorial equipment and supplies. Always maintain awareness of proper safety precautions. On-call for emergencies Be aware of all utility shut offs; shutting off immediately as needed in the event of fire or flood. Make sure storage areas and entrances are locked, and adequate lighting in those areas is maintained. Perform other duties as assigned
