We are seeking an accomplished and highly experienced Senior Resident Engineer to lead site supervision and construction delivery oversight for a large-scale building project in Dubai, UAE. This client-facing leadership role requires strong technical expertise in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering, with proven experience supervising complex construction works, coordinating multidisciplinary site teams, and ensuring that project execution aligns with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, quality standards, safety expectations, and project objectives.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing supervision and construction activities for similar-sized buildings, preferably within data center , mission-critical, industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale commercial developments. The role also requires a strong awareness of construction contracts, contract administration, claims, variations, and contractual obligations.

You will play a key role in representing the client’s interests on site, coordinating with contractors, consultants, engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure construction works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project’s technical, commercial, schedule, and quality requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead site supervision activities across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and related construction works, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, standards, and project requirements.
  • Serve as the senior site representative and primary technical interface between the client, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Oversee construction progress, site activities, inspections, technical coordination, quality performance, and contractor execution.
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure works are completed safely, on schedule, within quality expectations, and in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Review construction methodologies, method statements, inspection and test plans, material submittals, shop drawings, technical submissions, and site execution plans.
  • Coordinate with discipline engineers to resolve technical issues, design clarifications, RFIs, site constraints, and constructability challenges.
  • Chair and participate in site coordination meetings, progress meetings, technical workshops, and contractor review sessions.
  • Review contractor progress reports, site records, inspection results, NCRs, quality observations, and corrective action plans.
  • Ensure that works are properly inspected, tested, documented, and accepted in line with project quality procedures and applicable codes and standards.
  • Monitor project risks, delays, interface issues, and site constraints, escalating critical matters to project leadership with recommended corrective actions.
  • Support contract administration activities, including review of variations, claims, delay events, change requests, contractual notices, and commercial documentation.
  • Provide input on contractor payment applications, progress assessments, change orders, and claims from a technical and site execution perspective.
  • Ensure proper coordination between construction, design, procurement, project controls, cost, quality, safety, commissioning, and handover teams.
  • Support schedule monitoring by validating actual site progress against the approved construction schedule and identifying areas of delay or concern.
  • Promote effective communication and coordination across all site stakeholders to support timely decision-making and issue resolution.
  • Ensure that all site activities comply with applicable UAE regulations, local authority requirements, client standards, project specifications, and industry best practices.
  • Support testing, commissioning, handover, snagging, closeout, and turnover activities to ensure project completion requirements are achieved.
  • Mentor and guide site engineering teams, promoting accountability, technical excellence, quality, safety, and professional conduct.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
