Working Student - Finance (m/f/d)

ABOUT THE ROLE This is a hands-on finance working student position embedded directly within the Finance & People team of a Series B EdTech platform. You'll work closely alongside the Director of Finance & People to keep core financial processes running smoothly while helping to build AI-powered workflows and intelligent dashboards that strengthen the company's financial infrastructure. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Support day-to-day finance operations and keep cross-functional topics moving in partnership with the Director of Finance & People. - Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and coordinate with external auditors. - Help ensure accurate financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions. - Prepare monthly reports, maintain trackers, and handle ad hoc data pulls and analyses as part of operational controlling. - Identify and pilot opportunities to automate manual finance workflows using AI tools, low-code platforms, and smart integrations. - Support coordination with tax advisors, auditors, and legal providers. - Act as a bridge between Finance & People and teams such as Growth and Engineering. - Contribute to building intelligent dashboards and KPI trackers that form the foundation of a digital finance backbone. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. - Available for approximately 20 hours per week with a preferred commitment of 6–12 months. - Strong analytical skills and solid Excel proficiency (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis). - Comfortable using AI tools daily and eager to automate workflows; familiarity with low-code platforms is a plus. - Basic understanding of German accounting practices is a plus; curiosity about IFRS is welcome. - Fluent in German (written and spoken); strong English proficiency is also required. - Proactive, self-driven, and pragmatic — a builder mentality with enthusiasm for working directly with leadership. - Prior internship or working student experience in finance, consulting, or a high-growth startup is a plus, but not required. - Must be eligible to work in Germany without visa sponsorship.
