About the Role

We are seeking an Inspection Analytics Engineer to bridge the gap between advanced data systems and physical hardware manufacturing. In this role, you will analyze large-scale inspection data to eliminate bottlenecks, reduce rework, and scale quality operations across Anduril’s hardware product lines.

You will not just sit behind a screen—you will split your time between deep technical data analysis (querying and modeling data in systems like Foundry and Databricks) and physically walking the shop floor to validate data integrity and operational realities. Partnering closely with Quality Control Managers, Shop Floor Supervisors, Quality Intelligence, and Systems Safety engineers, you will establish operational standards, optimize labor allocation, and drive continuous improvement across incoming inspection, in-process QC, and supplier quality control.

What You’ll Do

  • Technical Analytics & Pipeline Development: Write complex SQL queries, analyze datasets across distributed data platforms (Palantir Foundry, Databricks, MES/QMS), and build real-time operational dashboards that pinpoint shop-floor bottlenecks and quality escapes.
  • Shop-Floor Operational Verification: Partner directly with QC leads and inspectors on the production floor to validate analytics against physical operations, verify cycle times, and resolve workflow constraints.
  • Continuous Improvement & Root Cause Analysis: Apply Lean manufacturing principles, statistical analysis, and structured problem-solving (RCCA, 8D) to reduce rework and improve On-Time Delivery (OTD).
  • Data Quality & Governance: Audit and improve transactional data quality at the point of capture, driving data hygiene initiatives alongside the Quality Intelligence team to eliminate systemic variance.
  • Resource & Capacity Optimization: Align inspection capacity and inspector capabilities against real-time demand across Receiving Inspection, In-Process QC, End-of-Line testing, and MRB (Material Review Board) operations.
  • AI & Tooling Acceleration: Leverage AI-native tools and workflows to automate analysis, accelerate troubleshooting, and synthesize complex operational data for leadership.
  • Inspection Plan Compliance: Collaborate with Quality Engineering to optimize inspection sampling plans and track supplier compliance metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Research, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • 4+ years of hands-on data analytics experience directly supporting manufacturing, quality, or hardware production environments.
  • Strong technical proficiency in SQL for querying, aggregating, and joining complex datasets across disparate enterprise systems.
  • Floor-to-Screen Mindset: Proven ability to translate digital dashboard insights into physical shop-floor process improvements, and vice versa.
  • AI-Native Mindset: High comfort and fluency in utilizing modern AI-assisted workflows (LLMs, code generation tools, automated reporting) to multiply personal and team productivity.
  • Direct experience supporting and collaborating with operational floor leadership (Supervisors, Area Managers, and QC Leads).
  • Strong working knowledge of standard quality methodologies (RCCA, 8D, CAPA, SPC, Pareto, and Lean Manufacturing principles).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for cross-functional teams.
  • U.S. Person Status is required as this position needs to access export-controlled data (ITAR/EAR).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience building data pipelines and dashboards within Palantir Foundry, Databricks, or modern enterprise BI platforms (PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Working proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation (e.g., pandas, numpy).
  • Prior experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or high-reliability hardware manufacturing environments (low-rate to scaled production).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Deep familiarity with modern ERP, MES, and QMS architectures.
