About the role
o Collaborating with contractors, stakeholders, and airport authorities to develop an ORAT plan. o Ensuring that the operational aspects of the airport are integrated into the construction phase to avoid delays or disruptions. o Overseeing the readiness of airport systems, equipment, and personnel to handle operations once the scope is completed. o Ensuring that operational processes (check-in, baggage handling, security, etc.) are designed and tested according to the new infrastructure. o Coordinating training programs for airport staff on new systems and facilities. o Organizing operational readiness exercises and simulations to identify and resolve potential issues before the airport opens. o Liaising with key stakeholders, including airlines, government authorities, security agencies, and service providers, to ensure their requirements are met and that they are prepared for the new facilities. o Identifying potential risks related to the transition and proposing mitigation strategies. o Troubleshooting operational issues that may arise during the final stages of construction. o Maintaining records of ORAT activities, schedules, and progress reports. o Providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders about the readiness status. o Coordinating the smooth handover of the completed sections of the airport to operations teams. o Ensuring that all necessary documentation, manuals, and certifications are in place before the airport expansion is operational. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Aviation Management, Project Management, or a related field. Strong knowledge of Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) methodologies. Familiarity with ICAO, IATA, and local aviation regulations. Certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) or Airport Operations (ACI, IATA) is an advantage Experience in airport operations, ORAT, or transition planning, with at least 5 years in a Project Management and Construction Supervision role. Proven expertise in testing, commissioning, and operational trials of airport facilities. Experience in stakeholder coordination, including airlines, ground handlers, and regulatory bodies. Strong understanding of passenger flow, baggage handling, and emergency preparedness. Ability to develop and implement ORAT plans, risk assessments, and training programs.
