About the role
Job Type: Fixed Term, Full Time until June 2027 Location: Gore, Southland We're looking for a practical, reliable, and motivated person to join our Three Waters team on a fixed-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, and being part of a team that delivers essential services to the Gore District. As a 3 Waters Network Operator, you'll help maintain and operate the district's water, wastewater, and stormwater networks. Every day brings something different, from repairing infrastructure and responding to customer requests through to assisting with emergency callouts and supporting the operation of treatment facilities. Requirements Experience in construction, maintenance, infrastructure, trades, or operational work. A current full driver's licence. Strong problem-solving and practical skills. A commitment to health and safety. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and customer service skills. A positive attitude and willingness to learn. Applicants must have the right to live and work in New Zealand. Responsibilities Maintain and repair water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure. Support the operation of treatment plants and pump stations. Monitor telemetry systems and respond to alarms. Investigate and report faults and network issues. Assist with compliance and regulatory requirements. Respond to customer service requests in a timely manner. Participate in an on-call roster and emergency response activities. Complete accurate records and operational reporting. Maintain vehicles, equipment and work areas to a high standard. Contribute positively to a team-focused environment.
