About the role

This position will provide therapeutic support to children in their home, school & other community settings. Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), implements clinical interventions from a behavioral treatment plan to assist children in making positive and sustainable changes. Summary of Essential Functions: Provide therapeutic support to a child or adolescent at home, school, day care, or other community-based setting, when the behavior without this intervention would require a more restrictive treatment or education setting Implement plan in specialty areas such as behavioral plans as developed Intervene as needed per treatment plan, implementing plans procedures as indicated with the child/adolescent, using appropriate, approved interventions Encourage and reinforce positive behavior Provide support for the family’s efforts to stabilize the child or adolescent and to promote age-appropriate behavior by working with the family Collaborate with other members of the treatment team and other professions working in the home or in the community settings Attend inter-agency meetings for all assigned clients, when requested for assigned clients Attend weekly, bi-weekly or monthly individual and group supervision/training and monthly individual clinical supervision Complete all paperwork as assigned and turn in by end of work week Maintain appropriate attendance, punctuality and attire Follow agency and departmental policies and procedures Assume additional responsibilities as assigned
