About the role
Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is a non-profit corporation that provides culturally sensitive health care to the American Indian population. OKCIC services include not only basic medical care but also dental, optometry, behavioral health, fitness, nutrition, and other family programs. We are seeking a Family Medicine Physician who provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals and families across all ages. This role diagnoses and manages acute and chronic conditions, promotes preventive health, and collaborates with clinical staff to deliver coordinated, high-quality care that meets community needs. Applicants claiming Indian Preference must complete the full application and must provide documentation verifying eligibility (such as a tribal enrollment card or Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB)). Job duties include, but are not limited to: Provides comprehensive ambulatory medical services within the scope of Family Medicine for the purpose of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. Examines patient for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders. Determines the nature and extent of injury or disorder, referring to diagnostic images and laboratory tests. Prescribes medication and recommends dietary and activity programs, as indicated by diagnosis. Refers patient to medical specialist when indicated. Assists clinic administration in developing and implementing programs relevant to providing health care for Native Americans served by the clinic. Participates in appropriate in-service education programs for health professionals at the clinic. Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient data and information. Maintains licensure and appropriate certifications. The Oklahoma City Indian Clinic is a non-profit organization and not a federal employer. Indian preference hiring laws apply.
