About the role

Role - Undertake both independent and collaborative research to develop and publish foundational and innovative theoretical framework to achieve a breakthrough in quantum information sciences. - Lead and develop collaborations with influential researchers, corporate or academic, in the fields of quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum cryptography, quantum sensing, and other emerging applications of quantum technologies. - Propose physical implementations and scalable architecture designs of the nanofiber cavity quantum electrodynamics (cQED), distributed neutral-atom quantum processors, and other quantum devices. Qualifications - Must have PhD before commencing the role. Requirements - Proven experience of theoretical research in at least one of the fields of fault-tolerant quantum computing, quantum cryptography, quantum communication, quantum algorithms, or relevant fields, with publication record commensurate with experience. - Proficient in verbal and written English communication (proficiency in Japanese is not mandatory). - Ability to work cohesively in an interdisciplinary team and adjust to a rapidly evolving environment. Desired Experience - Track record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed academic journals. - Proficient programming skills for reproducible numerical simulations. - Basic knowledge or interest in qubit systems based on atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics, including ions, optics, cavity QED and neutral atoms. - Leading role in international and interdisciplinary collaborative research. Compensation - Competitive salary.
