About the role

Summary: Under the supervision of the Cellar Supervisor, the Cellar Worker directly supports winery and wine production operations. This includes, but is not limited to, receiving and processing grapes for winemaking, maintaining winery sanitation, and supporting daily cellar operations. All cellar workers are responsible for learning company SOPs with proper guidance and training. Reports To: Cellar Supervisor and all subordinate supervisors Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Compensation: $20 Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. You Will: Monitors the crusher during grape crushing operations. Able to understand simple instructions and ask questions when clarification is needed. Maintains safety awareness at all times. Connects portable pumps between tanks and operates valves to pump wine and alcohol between stainless steel tanks. Pumps chilled wine into tanks and adds prescribed chemicals to the wine. Pumps wine through filters to remove sediment and clarify wine. Operates a filter press to separate juice from pomace. Cleans and sanitizes fermentation and fortification tanks, crushers, presses, filters, pumps, hoses, floors, and other miscellaneous equipment using hoses, pressure washers, and sanitizing chemicals. Starts pumps, turns valves, or adjusts controls to admit, drain, filter, mix, or transfer materials. Dumps, pours, or loads materials into equipment or containers for further processing or storage. Sets or adjusts machine controls to regulate conditions such as material flow, temperature, and pressure according to specified operating procedures. Monitors material flow and control instruments such as gauges, indicators, and meters to ensure optimal processing conditions and results. Removes blockages, defects, and impurities from machines, tank conveyors, or other processing equipment. Examines samples visually or manually to verify quality, including clarity, cleanliness, consistency, dryness, and texture. Measures or weighs materials to be refined, blended, transferred, or processed. Communicates or signals processing instructions to other workers. Collects material or product samples for laboratory analysis. Lubricates, connects, installs, replaces, or performs minor adjustments and repairs to hoses, pumps, and filters using hand tools. Inspects machines and equipment for hazards, operational efficiency, mechanical failures, wear, and leaks. Operates a forklift (if certified). Operates bottling and labeling equipment. Stacks wine on pallets. Loads trucks for shipment. Follows all safety guidelines and procedures. Reports hazards or unsafe conditions to management.

Compensation: $20
