About the role

Job Summary : The Nurse Manager RN is responsible for promoting and restoring patients’ health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care area; directing and developing staff; collaborating with providers and multidisciplinary professional staffs; providing physical and psychological support for patients, friends and families. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the staff, patients, families, and visitors of all age groups, while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Job Responsibilities : Demonstrate flexibility in job duties Must be available to work extended hours as needed Address nursing staff needs and shortages appropriately Initiate, coordinate and enforce organizational, operational, and personnel policies and procedures Assist with orienting and training nursing staff Willingly provide support for the nursing staff Effectively communicate with patients and families Maintain a safe and clean working environment Complete employee evaluations in a timely manner Ensure operation of medical equipment, reports malfunctions, and calls in repairs as needed Maintain clinic medical supplies, by anticipating needs, by ordering and maintaining availability of medical supplies Consistently strive to maintain a cooperative relationship among health care teams Must be available for employee call-ins Must be able to give guidance and direction in stressful situations Effectively delegate tasks to nurses Demonstrate a caring and compassionate attitude toward patients and staff Adequately communicate with providers Effectively teach patient education Monitor patient needs and attempt to satisfy patient complaints Knowledgeable in operating medical equipment Maintain prompt and regular attendance Verify timecard at the end of each pay period Performs related work, as assigned Must be flexible and willing to float to other clinic locations as needed to support operational needs, ensure adequate coverage, and maintain quality patient care Completes the required IT/Security trainings prior to the deadline Effectively evaluates employees by completing 6 month and annual evaluations prior to the deadline Counsels employees on areas of improvement by completing trainings and PCN’s in a timely manner
