About the role
Currently we are looking for a Senior Design Strategist who is empathetic with users, passionate about representing their needs, and experienced in leading exploratory and participatory research methods to uncover insights that will inform and inspire design and innovation. As a Senior Design Strategist at IA Collaborative you will: Lead and collaborate in the synthesis process to discover trends, identify unmet needs, develop key insights, and compile research summaries Develop research plans and methodologies based on an understanding of your clients’ goals and needs through stakeholder interviews. Become knowledgeable and passionate for your clients’ businesses through secondary research and analysis Recruit research participants and lead user research in the field to discover insights first-hand through interviews, intercepts, contextual observations, and other creative methods Connect insights to design actions by concepting user-centered solutions across brand, digital, product, service, and systemic platforms Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and shepherd your clients throughout the entire design process, from defining strategic direction all the way through the commercialization process. Research and Strategy development is critical at every point in the design process to ensure that all project deliverables are on strategy, creative concepts are effective, expectations are understood, and client objectives are achieved. Facilitate and lead in collaborative planning sessions, regularly scheduled meetings, ideation sessions and presentations Manage research and strategy account relationships by drafting research and strategic components of new business proposals, collaborating with account management staff to manage and extend client relationships to garner new business Requirements Bachelors degree in a related field design research, design planning, product design, design engineering, strategy planning, etc. Advanced degree preferred. At least four years of project work experience in the design research space Ability to plan and conduct research programs, analyze and synthesize qualitative data & participate in concept workshops. Adept verbal and written communication skills, strong meeting presence Passion and excitement for collaboration and ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams. Familiarity with user centered design practices, methods and tools Video editing experience is a plus
