About the role
Position Summary The Senior Systems Administrator is a hands-on infrastructure professional responsible for supporting the stability, security, and continuous improvement of Chris-Leef’s IT infrastructure and end-user technology environment. This role is expected to take ownership of day-to-day systems administration, infrastructure projects, escalated support, vendor coordination, documentation, and operational follow-through. The ideal candidate is experienced, self-directed, highly accountable, and comfortable supporting a small-tomid- sized business environment where strong communication, urgency, and practical problem solving are essential. This position works closely with the Manager of IT and business leadership to keep systems secure, reliable, and aligned with company needs. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Systems Administrator who is ready to take on broader ownership, lead meaningful projects, and grow into a larger operational leadership role over time. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Administer and maintain core IT infrastructure including Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra services, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and related business systems. Own day-to-day infrastructure operations, including monitoring, patching, troubleshooting, change planning, documentation, and proactive issue resolution. Provide leadership for escalated help desk and end-user support issues while coaching and assisting other IT team members as needed. Manage endpoint administration and remote monitoring tools, including device deployment, software installation, security configuration, inventory, and lifecycle support. Maintain and improve identity, access, and security controls across users, devices, applications, network resources, and cloud services. Support and manage network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, wireless access points, VPN, VLANs, routing, and network monitoring. Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes, including routine validation, documentation, and recovery testing where appropriate. Support cybersecurity tools and processes including endpoint security, email security, MFA, vulnerability remediation, security alerts, and incident response coordination. Perform root-cause analysis using logs, monitoring tools, vendor resources, and structured troubleshooting methods. Assist with technical planning, architecture, and implementation of infrastructure improvements, migrations, upgrades, and security initiatives. Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and support partners to resolve issues and maintain effective service delivery. Maintain accurate technical documentation, procedures, diagrams, asset information, and administrative records.
