About the role
The Power 4 Living (Sunday school) Administrative team is the foundation for practical, vibrant, growing, and encouraging Sunday school classes. Multiple team members are needed every Sunday to oversee the Power 4Living Sunday school literature distribution. Each team member is essential in ensuring all participants, including students and teachers, have the tools to receive, learn and grow from the lessons and discussions every Sunday. In addition to the P4L literature distribution, it is each team member’s responsibility to be prepared to perform multiple tasks each Sunday and miscellaneous duties that arise from the growth of the Sunday school department such as greeting, updating monthly calendar, sending emails, and acknowledging visitors and new registrants. Ministry Area/Department Discipleship / Power 4 Living Position Administrative Support Team Member Accountable To Administrative Assistant Ministry Target Power 4 Living (Sunday school) Position Is Volunteer Position May Be Filled By Church member who has completed Adult Christian Formation Minimum Maturity Level Stable, Mature Christian, Spirit-filled, Tither Spiritual Gifts Administration, Helps, Leadership Talents or Abilities Desired Collaborator, Communication, Computer Skills, Team-focused, Creativity, Ability to multi-task Best Personality Traits Initiative-taking, People oriented, Positive, Welcomes feedback Passion For People, Excellence, Professionalism, Problem Solving Length of Service Commitment One year minimum, Yearly review/evaluation Anticipated Time Commitments: Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: Attend and perform all required duties and responsibilities for Power 4Living (Sunday school) ministry every Sunday. (2.5 to 3 hours on Sunday) Attend church services regularly. Participating in meetings/training: Superintendent’s monthly staff meeting: One hour a month. Meet for evaluation and growth report: Once a year Responsibilities/Duties: 1.Greet and direct members and visitors to appropriate tables and or classes as needed. Encourage participants to register for P4L and purchase a book when applicable. 2. Report timely (9:15 a.m.) and be available to set up all Power4 Living classes (including Music dept) with all applicable tools (folders; table numbers; offering envelopes; offering sheets; survey cards, etc.). Return the tools to the P4L file cabinets for all classes. 3. Replenish the same tools, when applicable for the adult class and the classrooms from pre-k to young adult. 4. Assist with breaking down the administrative table no earlier than 10:15a.m. and returning unsold books to file cabinet. 5. One person to remain at Admin table to class completion for late book sales. 6. Assist with quarterly surveys as needed, making copies, filing data for Power 4Living as needed. 7. Be available to assist with quarterly book inventory, remove and replenish books. 8. Collect the offering from all classes. Assist in the finance area on Sundays (for the endurance of time needed to record, balance, update board and transport.), this includes and is not limited to presenting minutes to class assembly and winners of class banners. 9. Update the P4L Events calendar. Acknowledge visitors and new registrants by email. Distribute, receive, and compile quarterly survey scores. 10. Give advanced notice of absence or tardiness when applicable.
