About the role
North American Insurance Alliance is entering an important next phase of responsible growth. As our network continues to expand, we are looking to add a proven insurance professional to our leadership team who can help us identify, develop, and attract high-quality, established independent agencies that align with NAIA’s standards, culture, and long-term vision. The Regional Vice President will play a key role in supporting NAIA’s continued expansion by building relationships with seasoned, sophisticated agency principals and helping communicate the value of NAIA membership in a thoughtful, consultative, and professional manner. This is not a volume-based recruiting role focused on startups, scratch agencies, or individual producers. Rather, the role is focused on responsible, strategic growth with established agencies that are well-run, growth-minded, and capable of benefiting from and contributing to the NAIA network. Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain a disciplined prospect pipeline of qualified, established independent agencies that align with NAIA’s membership profile, culture, and long-term growth strategy. • Work with NAIA leadership and marketing resources to develop and use effective materials that generate interest among high-quality agency prospects. • Use strategic outreach, relationship development, industry networking, referrals, and other professional channels to identify and engage potential agency members. • Represent NAIA at agency meetings, carrier events, industry conferences, trade shows, and other networking opportunities where qualified agency relationships may be developed. • Evaluate prospective agencies for membership suitability, including business profile, market position, carrier relationships, growth orientation, cultural fit, and ability to benefit from NAIA’s platform. • Clearly communicate NAIA’s value proposition using a needs-based, consultative approach that reflects the priorities of experienced agency principals. • Build and maintain strong relationships with agency principals, carrier partners, and other industry professionals who can support NAIA’s responsible expansion efforts. • Maintain accurate pipeline documentation, prospect notes, follow-up activity, and recruiting details to support transparency, continuity, and disciplined execution. • Collaborate with NAIA leadership on prospective member evaluation, onboarding strategy, and agreement execution as appropriate. • Participate in ongoing learning, development, and internal communication to strengthen market knowledge, sales capability, and leadership effectiveness. • Participate in NAIA meetings, member meetings, leadership discussions, and other events that support the network’s growth and member engagement objectives. • Uphold NAIA policies, procedures, standards, and expectations related to professionalism, compliance, confidentiality, and responsible growth. • Other duties as directed. Ideal Candidate Profile • Meaningful property and casualty insurance experience with credibility in the independent agency system. • Strong understanding of agency operations, agency economics, carrier relationships, and the challenges faced by established independent agencies. • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with sophisticated agency principals, carrier partners, and industry professionals. • Business development, sales leadership, agency recruiting, carrier marketing, or relationship management experience. • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and consultative communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple initiatives, maintain organized follow-up, and execute against measurable growth objectives. • Professional presence, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to represent NAIA with credibility in the marketplace. • A collaborative, growth-minded approach with the confidence to work independently and the humility to operate as part of a leadership team. Key Competencies • Business Development and Consultative Selling: Able to identify qualified opportunities, build trust, understand prospect needs, and communicate a clear business case for NAIA membership. • Relationship Management: Able to develop credibility with agency principals, carrier partners, members, and industry contacts. • Strategic Thinking: Able to support responsible expansion by evaluating fit, prioritizing high-quality opportunities, and aligning growth activity with NAIA’s long-term objectives. • Organization and Execution: Able to manage a pipeline, document activity, follow up consistently, and advance multiple initiatives at the same time. • Communication and Presentation: Able to communicate with clarity, confidence, and professionalism in one-on-one meetings, group presentations, written correspondence, and virtual settings. • Collaboration and Leadership Presence: Able to work effectively with NAIA leadership, members, and partners while representing the network’s values in the marketplace. Minimum Qualifications Education and/or Experience • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered. • At least 10 years of property and casualty insurance experience, preferably within an independent agency, carrier, wholesale, network, aggregation, or related business development environment. • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships, manage a prospect pipeline, and support strategic growth initiatives. • Comfortable working independently while remaining closely aligned with a collaborative leadership team. • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present clearly and professionally to agency principals, carrier partners, members, and larger groups. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Active Property and Casualty license preferred. Professional designations are valued.
