About the role

The Facilities Maintenance Technician Level 1 is responsible for the maintenance of commercial buildings, public areas, and amenities, including setting up rooms and facilities for public events, entertainment and daily activities. This is a visible position within the community requiring the utmost awareness of how actions and communication are perceived. Some of our great benefits include: Paid Holidays & Vacations Weekly Pay Health Benefits & matching 401K Employee Assistance Program Employee Referral Program Discount on fitness membership Responsibilities: Performs maintenance, cleaning, and repairs on commercial buildings, equipment, roofs, exterior surfaces, inspections, and hazard elimination Sets up chairs, tables, tents, displays and decorations for events and daily activities Empties trash receptacles, cleans and disinfects as directed Completes building inspection reports for management review Maintains a willingness to learn and/or train in maintenance techniques Works in a team environment to maintain Quality Standards Maintains effective employee and public relations Follows work orders precisely and provides good feedback Works safely, promotes safety in the workplace, and follows all applicable PPE procedures May require occasionally alternating shifts and hours to accommodate event schedules May be required to work at heights above 6 feet, including working and cleaning from ladders Performs all duties in adherence to OTOW standards Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and co-workers Performs other duties as assigned Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Previous facilities maintenance experience preferred Skills and Knowledge: Must be able to read, write and understand English Bilingual (Spanish) preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written Self-Sufficient Personal Attributes Safety Minded Self-Motivated Honesty and Integrity Team Oriented Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion Certifications and Licenses A valid Florida Drivers License with acceptable driving history is required
