Day - 08 Hour (United States of America) "This Application Analyst position will learn and apply functional and systems expertise in value-based care to configure, test, and support solutions that increase quality, reduce medical expense, and improve the managed-member experience. The role will develop understanding of Epic payer and population health modules including, but not limited to, Tapestry, Healthy Planet, Compass Rose, and VBPM. In addition to Epic skills, the Application Analyst will configure, deploy, and support non-Epic systems including but not limited to Stanson, Cotiviti, and other third-party systems." This is a Stanford Health Care job. A Brief Overview The Application Analyst I is the entry point into the Application Analyst family. This position implements, administers, and supports assigned systems under the general guidance of senior members of the team while building a foundational understanding of Epic modules, ancillary systems, and health system operations. The role is structured as a developmental one: over approximately 2–3 years, the incumbent is expected to progress from foundational, closely-guided work to independently competent support and basic build activity, building the technical and workflow knowledge needed to be ready for promotion to Application Analyst II. Locations Stanford Health Care What you will do Application Support & Incident Resolution Provide tier-2 support of application incidents reported through the help desk Perform daily monitoring of applications in production use Provide ongoing troubleshooting, support, and maintenance of applications during assigned shift. Take ownership of low-complexity issues and act as a liaison between the customer and other support staff to facilitate resolution Implementation, Upgrades & Enhancements Assist in the implementation of low-complexity tools and workflows Assist in the upgrade of applicable software or enhancements to existing workflows Modify tables and master files, and make additions and changes, under the direction of senior team members Implement changes using documented procedures that are compliant with department policies and procedures Analysis, Design & Problem Solving Build foundational analytical skills by shadowing senior analysts on workflow analysis and issue triage, with increasing independence over time Testing & Quality Assist in any testing required as part of new implementations, enhancements, or upgrades Documentation Document routine workflows and support activities using established templates and standards Collaboration & Mentorship Coordinate application support with other information technology teams, including Infrastructure, Integration, Enterprise Analytics, and the help desk Meetings & Governance Participate in team and cross-team meetings and maintain appropriate meeting records Growth, Learning & AI Literacy Complete structured onboarding, shadowing, and Epic or other clinical application training/certification activities on the path toward independent competency Demonstrate curiosity and a willingness to learn new tools, workflows, and technologies, including asking questions and seeking feedback from senior team members Build basic AI literacy — a working understanding of how AI-assisted and automation tools (e.g., ticket triage, documentation, and build-assistance tools) are used in healthcare IT, including their appropriate use and limitations Use approved AI-enabled tools, under guidance, to support daily work such as documentation, research, and routine troubleshooting Actively pursue stretch opportunities and challenge themselves to take on incrementally more complex work as skills develop Education Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or Health Administration, Management Systems, Technology, Health Information Management, or a directly related field from an accredited college or university Candidates with five (5) years of work experience in a healthcare or general office setting may substitute for the degree requirement Experience Qualifications No prior healthcare IT or analyst experience required; relevant internship, help desk, clinical, or office experience is a plus Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Mid-level Microsoft Office skills Ability to diagnose and resolve routine technology problems Ability and desire to learn to resolve specialized and advanced technology problems Basic AI literacy and genuine curiosity about emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and apply new AI-enabled tools as part of daily work Growth mindset — willing to try, ask for help, receive feedback, and challenge themselves to build new skills Ability to establish a set of tasks and activities associated with an intended outcome and timeline Ability to take action consistent with available facts, constraints, and anticipated consequences Ability to use appropriate interpersonal skills to give information to and receive information from coworkers and customers in a tactful and professional manner Ability to use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions and/or reaching conclusions Ability to develop new skills and teach others Ability to collaborate and build consensus with stakeholders Ability to understand and adhere to operational standards, policies, and procedures Ability to identify risks and issues Ability to develop solutions for new and unfamiliar challenges These principles apply to ALL employees: SHC Commitment to Providing an Exceptional Patient & Family Experience Stanford Health Care sets a high standard for delivering value and an exceptional experience for our patients and families. Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $52.69 - $69.82 per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
