P osition : Probationary; Range C* Job Description The University Advancement team’s mission is to engage alumni and friends in ways that are meaningful and impactful to them. The Leadership Development Officer plays a key role in this effort, focusing on soliciting leadership gifts ($5,000 - $25,000 annually) to support designated areas of the University. This position works under the guidance of the Associate Vice President of Advancement, aligning with the University’s strategic goals and objectives . With a successful track record of consecutive record-breaking fundraising years, the University Advancement team continues to drive success through a “donor-focused, data-driven” strategy. As donors grow their commitment to the University, the Leadership Development Officer will make recommendations to transition donors to major giving levels or to transition their portfolio into the major gift space. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in content specific field such as business, marketing, communications, non-profit administration (con ferred on an official transcript at the time of application). Experience with presentations, video conferencing, writing and editing . Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills . Successful experience in creating relationships with clients, customers, volunteers, or work groups . Strong organizational skills, passion for philanthropy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment. Demonstrated ability to be a positive contributing member of multiple teams. Ability to travel throughout Minnesota, including the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area. Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment. Preferred Qualification Three or more (3+) years of work experience in sales, customer service, communications or another related field . Professional experience in fundraising, non-profit operations, alumni relations, digital marketing, client relations, data analytics, CRM management, community engagement and outreach or another related field . Knowledge of rules and regulations of 501(c)3 restrictions and laws . Knowledge of the Mankato community and the University . Data analysis experience used in strategic decision making .
