About the role
The purpose of the Clinical Nursing Instructor is to supplement the classroom experience by teaching and supervising pre-licensure BSN nursing students in the clinical agency. Clinical Nurse Faculty report to the BSN Program Director with supervision from the Clinical Coordinator and Course Coordinators for the assigned subject area. Subject areas may include Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing, Medical/Surgical Nursing, Community/ Public Health Nursing, and Obstetrics/Pediatric Nursing. Adjunct Nurse Faculty are generally appointed at the rank of Instructor. General Roles and Responsibilities include: Making patient/student assignments Providing clinical instruction Assessing each student's progress and providing verbal and/or written feedback to the student Completing a formal, summative evaluation of the student's clinical performance using the clinical evaluation tool developed for the course Adhere to the policies and procedures of the clinical site
