About the role
KVC Missouri Ozark Family Resource Center - Emergency Shelter: Springfield, MO Compensation: $17-$20.65 per hour, based on experience and education. Schedule: Part-Time; Evening Shift Preferred Preferred Hours: 2:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. We are primarily seeking candidates who are available to work this shift; however, we welcome applicants with availability for other shifts as well. Please include all days and times you are available to work, if possible. Weekend availability is also greatly appreciated. Job Summary: The Youth Care Specialist is responsible for tending to the physical and emotional needs of children and youth residing in the Ozark Family Resource Center - Emergency Shelter. The YCS fosters a supportive and safe group living environment, ensuring that all clients receive the care and attention they need during their stay. Job Summary Provide for the physical and emotional needs of clients, including: Provide daily supervision and care to children and youth in the shelter. Attend to the physical needs of clients, including meals, hygiene, and healthcare requirements. Offer emotional support, helping clients manage stress and trauma. Facilitate a healthy group living experience: Creating a positive and supportive environment Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment within the shelter. Ensure adherence to shelter rules and policies, addressing any behavioral issues with appropriate interventions Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalency Class E driver's license with good driving record Strong customer service focus Excellent time management Oral and written communication skills Word, Excel, and e-mail applications proficiency Why KVC?
