About the role
The role is focused on CAD and drawing activities, supplier communication and sample coordination, prototyping, documentation, and production-related tasks. CAD Design – Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. Prototyping – Support the development of prototypes through 3D printing and sample preparation and accompany design iterations through to production readiness. Documentation – Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and test documentation for development and production. Supplier Coordination – Communicate with suppliers regarding requests, tooling samples, timelines, and quality-related topics throughout the development process. Design for Manufacturing – Perform basic DFM and DFA assessments and support material and surface-related topics involving plastic, glass, and metal components. Industrialization – Support tooling approvals, sample runs, and production handovers by documenting findings and tracking follow-up actions. Collaboration – Work closely with Electronics, Supply Chain, and Production teams and occasionally support supplier visits. Education – You hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a comparable field. CAD Experience – You experience with CAD tools preferably SolidWorks and are familiar with creating technical drawings. Manufacturing Knowledge – You possess a basic understanding of injection molding, thermoplastics, and geometric tolerances. Prototyping – You have an interest in prototyping methods and enjoy turning ideas into functional samples. Organizational Skills – You work in a structured manner and are comfortable managing multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously. Language Skills – You communicate confidently in English. German language skills are considered a plus. Hands-On Mentality – You bring a practical mindset, a strong quality focus, and a willingness to travel occasionally to supplier locations. Nice to Have – Experience with glass front panels, metal brackets, 3D printing, supplier quality topics, or RoHS/REACH requirements is considered a plus. Why ELATEC?
